Vermont Plumbers

Plumbing licenses in Vermont are controlled by the Plumber's Examining Board. All applications for licensure are heard by this board, and in order to apply for either a journeyman license or a master license, you must meet the board determined criteria.

In order to qualify for a journeyman license in the state, you must have completed a board approved apprentice program. If you do not have access to an apprenticeship program, then you must have completed a combination of training and work experience on your own that is equal to an apprenticeship program. You must also successfully pass the journeyman exam, which will cost you $50 per attempt.

To hold a master license, you must have either held a journeyman license in the state for at least 12 months in good standing or have the equivalent education and training to meet the board's expectations. You must also pass the master level exam, which will cost you $50 per attempt.
